Phase 1

Phase 1 of Turn 5 will last from 100% to 85%

During this phase you will encounter 3 adds that will spit liquid hell at random targets.

Twintania will have access to the following abilities

Death Sentence - a high damage single target attack that will inflict infirmary on the target reducing the amount of HP that can be healed, this buff cannot be esuna'd or leeches off.

Plummet - This attack is a mild damage frontal AoE attack, it will do between 2000 - 3000 damage.

Start the fight by pulling Twintania a bit back from where she spawns in from, back peddle your way slowly out of any liquid hells that may cause any problems for the DPS to take down the adds, and try and approach the entrance of the battle field.

Near the entrance there is a bit of a dip or a pit, keep this location in mind it will be important later.

At 85% she will break her necklace, move her back to the other side of the arena while staying on the same side as the pit is, so you can get to it quickly, the necklace breaking signify the end of the first phase and the second phase beginning.

Phase 2

In phase 2 Twintania gains access to 2 new abilities and gains a new buff.

The first new attack is Fireball, this attacks damage is split between the people that are hit by it, you generally do not want more than 3 people to be hit by this at a given time as she gains a buff that dictates the length of Conflagration, her next ability.

Fireball can be identified by a red triangle/diamond appearing above the persons head that is being selected, move to where your party designates the damage to be split.

Conflagration is a jail type attack that will put a wide area around the person targeted. The person targeted and anyone caught inside of it will be immobilized and will take damage over time of about 200-300 a tick. If you do not kill this jail in time anyone caught inside will be dead.

Conflagration can be identified by a blue indicator that appears above the persons head.

An important thing to know is that every other Fireball can be feed to a Conflagration that will reset the timer of the people trapped inside giving you an extended period of time to break them out.

So First fireball will always be split, second fireball will be fed, third fireball split, fourth fireball fed, repeat this until the phase is over which ends at 45%, Twintania's collar will break once again which will be the signal for the next phase, Divebombs.

Phase 3.1


In this Phase Twintania isn't present other than for dive bombs, which will hit the raid for a large amount of damage and knock them around, potentially into the wall killing them instantly.

Get down into the pit as soon as she goes up into the air and about 5-7s after she has left the arena she will appear for her first dive bomb, she will do 3 dive bombs before the next part of the phase will begin.

It is strongly recommended that you focus target her before this phase, and have your focus target setup somewhere it will be easy to see, as you will be able to see the casting bar and when it is about to go off, another way to indicate that the divebomb is about to happen is a green icon will appear above someone.

To avoid this attack simply walk out of the pit and then walk back down, get as close to the wall as you can get without killing yourself.

Phase 3.2

3 Snakes will spawn in front of the pit that you are huddled in, these snakes do not have a frontal cleave as snakes traditionally have, and the 2 smaller ones will explode when they are killed applying a stacking increased damage taken debuff on anyone and anything caught inside of it, including any enemies.

Be mindful that Twintania will come back in roughly 40 seconds to begin her last set of dive bombs, focus the small snakes down to about 30-45% before drawing all attention onto the big one, alternatively because the echo is so strong you could focus down the big snake this entire time and you should be okay to handle all the minis before Twintania comes back for her super attack.

After her third dive bomb 2 more mini snakes will spawn on the opposite end of the arena, as soon as the third dive bomb is set to go off everyone should move to the other side of the arena and focus down all the snakes and get into the 2 puddles that she left behind, the tank in the puddle away from the entrance and the rest of the party in the puddle near the entrance.

Twintania will come down and perform her super attack and anyone not in these puddles when it goes off will be killed instantly, this attack starts the hardest Phase of the encounter.

Phase 4


In phase 4 Twintania will have all her attacks from the phase 1, as well as 2 new mechanics, Twisters and Dreadnaughts.

If you haven't done so by now it is strongly recommended to have Twintania focus targeted, spread out around the arena and give everyone a safe distance away from eachother, when she readies twisters move around in a corkscrew like motion.


This will leave the twister animation somewhat near you, and you will be spared from instant death. This allows for dodging the mechanic without you having to move a large distance to avoid it and hopefully avoiding running into other players and killing either yourself, them or both of each other.

Twintania's next mechanic will be summoning a Dreadnaught in the center of the arena, she will also stun and jail someone, it is up to the party to kill the dread before he reach's the target. The dread is susceptible to stun, and heavy, and is highly advised that Black Mages use Lethargy as it is an instant cast, and it will always be up by the time the next one is ready to spawn. Tanks should also stun when it is getting close to approaching the target.

This phase will last from 45% to 20%, her collar will snap one final time and she will gain a buff that will reduce the casting time and recast time of her abilities and introduce 2 final mechanics.

Phase 5 - Final Phase

From 20% to death, Twintania will use all the mechanics of Phase 1, and 2 new mechanics, hatches and liquid hell.

These mechanics are not as deadly as the rest of the encounter, do not move Twintania from when the collar snapped at the end of Phase 4, and have a DPS stand inside of the puddle to soak the damage. If you have two tanks in this encounter have your off tank stand inside and pop cool downs to mitigate the damage.

Twintania will target a player at random and 3 dark orbs will circle them, this will indicate a hatch is about to spawn and seek its target, if the hatch is not absorbed by a player standing in the puddle it will deal significant damage, either enough to put them in a critical state or kill them in 1 hit.

Twintania's final mechanic is liquid hell, she will target a player at random and spit 5-6 liquid hells at them, the person targeted should run along the outside ring of the arena to avoid having other players hit by the initial blast. If the person soaking hatches is targeted simply eat through the damage.

Repeat these mechanics one or two times and you should have your victory, congratulations on your win and prep yourself for The Second Coil of Bahamut.
